Endurance Training
At Bon Secours Sports Performance in Richmond, we use VO2 max and anaerobic threshold testing to give clients the precise parameters by which they should train in order to improve their endurance capabilities.
Together, our performance specialists, Registered Dietitians, and physical therapists work with clients so they can go faster and further with a reduced injury risk. Our seamlessly integrated training program not only improves the way athletes move in the water, on foot or on their bike, but also helps them gain mobility, stability, strength, and – of course – endurance.
Whether you run, cycle, swim or row, our individualized endurance program can help all athletes eliminate chronic pain and prevent injury.
VO2 Max
Through VO2 testing, our staff is able to measure your VO2 Max (a measure of the maximum amount of oxygen that an athlete can use during intense exercise) and anaerobic threshold (your body’s “breaking point” at which oxygen uptake is no longer sufficient to sustain the intensity of the exercise). Using this information, our certified strength and conditioning specialists can design a heart rate-based training program to improve your VO2 and buffering capacity, which enhances performance and endurance. Athletes have the option to complete the test on a treadmill or a bicycle to ensure we are recording accurate data in relation to their activity.
Cost: $125
Run Performance
The Bon Secours Run Performance Program caters to helping athletes improve their running mechanics and eliminate many common running pains and injuries. Using our state-of-the-art run gait analysis technology, our strength and conditioning specialists and physical therapists can dissect every part of your running form to troubleshoot for inefficiencies or areas of concern for injury.
Clients receive an individualized prescription of take-home exercises and stretches to ensure they minimize injury risk and run as efficiently as possible.
Cost: $250
The program is offered at Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond and Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville. To learn more about this and other sports training programs we offer, contact us today.
